    This heater was built by Allister to warm a Machine Shop in the Midlands of England in often sub zero temperatures. The materials that I had used were not easily available to Allister, so alternatives were found in that he had access to some condemned LPG cylinders.

    Here we see how they have been used both as a firebox and also the primary pan. I am prticularly taken with the idea of the pan as I feel the rounded bottom would make ash removal somewhat easier, and being in a relatively low heat area it should last well.

 

    These photos were taken during one of the early test runs where it had been run into the doorway of the Machine shop as the flue had not been led outside. The heater is obviously running very well, showing a clear stack and the lower half of the firebox is red hot, and Yes,... that is snow on the ground in the shot at right
